Wii-friendly

Well well.

With the arrival of the Nintendo Wii Browser there had to be some change on the internet. Thus someone developed a plugin for Wordpress to display the blog nicely on the Wii Browser. What I'm saying is this:

Ish naish

Let me start by saying this: NINTENDO IS FUCKING BACK IN ACTION BOOYAH. Nintendo Wii owns so hard it makes my eyes try to open themselves even further. They think they are dreaming, little rascals!

Anyway, I got the Wii + WiiSports, WiiPlay and Zelda (well, duh) and all of em are pretty nice.

I had my birthday party for my friends this weekend (pictures will follow shortly, not to worry) and it was a blast. Let me give you a simple mathematical equasion:

ALCOHOL + (WII + WIISPORTS) = FUN.

Now this is math even I get. Wii Tennis was real fun, even though Antonio beat everyone (well Arne beat him once, dunno what was going on there).

I'll post a followup with party pics soon, now I got work to do, money to earn.

Swamped in work

For months, no work, now this. Swamped in work. School, the holidays, my birthday, and work. God the stress.

Thank god I have like no school this week.

I even feel a little sick, why does everything always happen at the same time? Oh well, rather now than january 9th.

Anyway,
The Wii will be released this friday, and I've collected enough money with my birthday to buy:

1. Wii console.
2. Zelda: The Twilight Princess
3. Extra Wii-mote

In the wiik afterwards I can think about buying an extra nunchuck, but not really needed yet. Then there's warioware thats released in January, which will be awesome.

I'm currently hooked on Monkey Island (again). Those games keep entertaining me. The grip of World of Warcraft is slowely loosening, and I'm thinking of quitting the guild in The Burning Crusade and creating my own 25 man raiding guild. But I'm not sure yet. As it is now, I have no time anymore to raid everyday, and I don't feel like it anymore either. I still love WoW, no doubt about it, but the hardcore raiding has taken enough of me the last few months. Enough is enough.

Could be just the work thats keeping me from it, but I noticed the amounts of free time I have if I dont raid every day. When I'm living with my girlfriend later on I'll prolly only have 1 day I'll raid during the week, the weekends are still for gaming ofcourse.

I'm listening to Gregorian. It's basically a Gregorian choir that sings popular music. Really awesome.

Our new appartment

As you can see we have our own kitchen and bathroom and the room is pretty big.

The building in which it resides is an old convent, and the main hall when you enter the building is beautiful. The building has an inner garden (yes like in Diablo II's monestary zomg!) so that's just lovely.

We'll move in on January 9th, so more pictures after that :)

Apartment :D

Well we finally got an apartment, my girlfriend and me. I don't know when we will be moving yet, but it won't take long :)

It took us like one year, but we finally got one, and it's in a real good location as well, I can walk to the main train station which I need to get to school. Imba.

And I found a rather nice site today, recommended you watch this on Caturday.

Evanescence - The Open Door

So I got my hands on the new album by Evanescence, The Open Door. Here's my little review.

Well, I must say that I am a bit biased due to track 7. Lacrymosa has been my favorite classical piece since the moment I first heared it (which is like some years ago, prolly like 8 since I then began to find an interest in classical music). They use the piece very nicely, it doesnt kill it or anything. Good job guys.

On to the rest of the album. It has to be said that her voice is very nice on every track, she doesnt overdo anything like some singers can. Good. The entire album gives a feeling of calm, unlike the previous albums. The songs aren't as angry as I am used to by Evanescence. Ofcourse, there are a lot of nice guitar pieces etc, but still, it leaves you feeling calm and not excited or angry or whatever. You can listen to this album to relax, rather than use it to vent your anger ^^.

This album gets:
4/5 Desu's XD

Het is lastig voor me om hier een reactie op te geven, omdat ik het eens ben met de schrijver. De actuele wereld is zo zwart-wit verdeeld tussen het weste en 'de rest' dat je het automatisch eens bent met één van de twee partijen. Dit terwijl ik de acties van de VS veroordeel maar ook het islamofascisme. ik zou George W. Bush bijna bestempelen als oorlogscrimineel, toch zeker vanwege de spanningen in de wereld die zijn oorlog heeft veroorzaakt, en de onstabiele landen die hij heeft gemaakt.

Die instabiliteit komt door de terreurgroeperingen die denken dat ze een heilige oorlog aan het strijden zijn tegen de invasie van het westen. Is dit ook vrijheid van meningsuiting? Ja, in mijn ogen. Is dit enigzins goed te praten? Nee, absoluut niet.
Natuurlijk, ze strijden voor een vrij land, maar daarbij onderdrukken ze het land tegelijkertijd. Een goed weblog om te lezen over hoe het nu gaat in Irak is Baghdad Burning, genomineerd voor de Samual Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction.

Verdedig ik de vrijheid van meningsuiting of veroordeel ik het? Beide. Mensen moeten het behouden, maar moeten het opnieuw leren gebruiken. We gebruiken het tegenwoordig om te shockeren (Hirsi Ali/Van Gogh met de film Submission bijvoorbeeld) en om discussies aan te gaan die op een andere manier zouden moeten starten. Met de film submission werd meteen een negatief gesprek gestart.

Al met al ben ik dus voor de vrijheid van meningsuiting, mits er goed mee wordt omgegaan.

Positiebepaling Vrijheid van Meningsuiting

Zoals ik al eerder kort heb gezegd bij de links, ben ik absoluut tegen het argument "Vrijheid van meningsuiting gaat boven de wet tegen discriminatie". We moeten wel mogen zeggen wat we willen, maar niet als je daarmee iemand anders in een kwaad daglicht zet, of pijn doet.

Er is in dit land (en in veel delen van Europa) een slechte verandering aan het plaatsnemen. Men neigt steeds meer en vaker naar (extreem-) rechtse ideeën en komt hier ook steeds vaker voor uit. Het debat over de Islam is zo enorm eenzijdig aan het worden dat er een gevoel van 'ons tegen hen' ontstaat, waardoor er een twee-deling in het land komt. Nu de Islamitische landen toch al zo 'anti-westers' aan het worden zijn (mede dankzij de verkeerde oorlog van de Verenigde Staten/Groot Brittanië, maar dat is voor een andere discussie) is het niet verstanding om onze medemens zo te kijk te zetten.

We leven in een multicultureel land. Dit is een feit en daarmee moeten we leven. Wij hebben in onze geschiedenis ervoor gekozen om een 'haven' te worden voor mensen die het beu waren om onderdrukt te worden vanwege het geloof en mening en daarvan wordt nu nog steeds gebruik gemaakt. Ik ben bang dat velen van ons dat vergeten zijn.

Mensen zijn bang voor dat wat ze niet kennen en angst uit zich vaak in haat, vooral wanneer men meer mensen vindt die net als zij denken. Daarom zien we ook een toename in extreem-rechtse jeugd (bron)

Ik vind dat we in een samenleving leven. Dat wil dus zeggen, een samenleving. We moeten samen met elkaar zorgen dat we allemaal ons eigen leven kunnen leiden en gelukkig kunnen zijn. Zou jij willen leven in een omgeving waar je word gehaat en word nagekeken? Ik niet. Kortom, vrijheid van meningsuiting is een goede manier om te laten zien wat beter kan in je omgeving, maar het is geen apparaat om haat te zaaien.

Veel mensen hebben tegenwoordig een instelling van: "Alles moet gezegd kunnen worden" en "alles is bespreekbaar". Kan alles worden gezegd in de samenleving? Alles is bespreekbaar, maar waar liggen de grenzen van de meningsuiting?

Hier ben ik het glashard NIET mee eens.

geslacht of op welke grond dan ook, is niet toegestaan.

Dit is de wet waarop ons land is gebouwd. Iets waar we voor hebben gevochten. Ik vind niet dat we deze wet moeten gebruiken 'wanneer het ons uitkomt'.

Well I'm at school now, and it's a pretty boring lesson. It's about creating websites for mobile devices, something I learned on my previous school. Bleh.

It went pretty great, we got to kill Shazzrah on our first run. Awesome mode. Still it was the worst run for me ever.

CARE is doing great

Hiya, another update on my WoW progress, and a bit on my irl stuff.

Our guild, CARE, is doing great. We manage to clear Zul'Gurub in 3-4 hours, we got to the 4th boss in Ahn'Qiraj, and sunday we will do our first Molten Core raid, with 10 members from another guild, but still, pretty cool.

Haven't really got many good loot last couple of days, besides from quest rewards such as:

and my Molten Core shoulders: [item]Flamescarred Shoulders [/item] (note that it is the rogue trinket ofcourse, but the script grabs the first result, which is the shaman one. Stupid shammies.).

School is going OK. This semester was a bit worse than the others, because I've been sick a lot. I will be going on a week vacation with my gf to southern france, which I'm looking forward to. Nothing much else has happened, my life is boring :P

Well I got to level 60 recently, yay me. But do I enjoy my 60's? Not untill now.

I've been farming Scholomance, or as I like to call it Never-Drop-SC-holomance, for the past two weeks. I got literally everything from that damned dungeon.

To make a list:

Anyway, we'll (as in CARE) are starting Zul'Gurub this weekend and my gf has been so kind as to come over and let me play with them. Yay for me!

My first LBRS run yesterday

It went pretty well. We didnt wipe once, I only died once and I did the most damage of the raid, which is weird because we also had a lvl60 Rogue in almost complete Shadowcraft armor (well, except for the gloves, more below). Well he was a noob anyway.

I also got [item]Shadowcraft Gloves[/item], my first tier 0 item! Woo! It is extra funny because the noob rogue needed itt o complete the set but I won it XD I'm such a lucky guy :P
