Instead I decided something more... sophisticated. Thus my Flash XML Content Management System was born. Let's call it FXC, shall we?
My goal with this project was to make an application which can be fully customized using XML. You can specify data, and the application displays it in a visually appealing way.
Now the technical side of the application is finished. Well, finished enough for my assessment Monday, but I wanna add an extra level of customization before releasing it.
When it's done for my assessment, I'll show it to you of course. I consider this my most advanced CMS yet, it probably is. I'm loving it :D
Current features:
- You can specify different XML content sheets, for instance, for allowing quality settings, different galleries, etc.
- You can make categories, which are selectable in a main screen.
- Each category is configurable with imagery and sound
- Inside a category, you can have links. The links are represented by bug-like movieclips, which you can also specify yourself
- Each category has the following configurable items:
- A background image and for animation, a blurred version of the backgroun
- A colorset
- Music
- The animated movieclip
- The links to content, with status text and hoverbox text
- Probably much more in the released-to-public version
So stay tuned for the release, and preview, of FXC :)
Edit: Also, what's always nice, is having the room full of musical goons while you have to work for school -_-
